Blood and Jazz
Boccob is the greater god of magic, arcane knowledge, balance, and foresight. He is widely known by the epithets “Lord of All Magics”, “Archmage of the Deities”, and “the Uncaring”. All times and places are open to him, and he has visited many alternate realities and distant planes unknown even to the wisest of sages. He is notoriously and inexplicably recalcitrant, even with other deities, aiding one moment and hindering the next without obvious cause, though he does consistently act to preserve and spread the practice of magic. His symbol is an eye inscribed within a pentagon.
Boccob created the demiplane of Ërdin at the stroke of midnight on Novanna 1st in the year 0. While he usually seems characteristically indifferent to the fortunes of Ërdin’s people, he has invested a considerable amount of effort into reducing the influence of other gods—notably, constructing the Veil, which prevents outsiders (even deities) from entering Ërdin unless conjured by a native, and severely limiting the ability of deities to make contact with their followers beyond the mere grant of divine spells to clerics. Additionally, Boccob has scattered many mysterious ruins from older worlds in remote locations across the surface of the planet, all full of spells waiting to be discovered and put into general use.
Boccob’s plan for Ërdin is, at the time of this writing, unclear.
